And also "wow, they are different. He is more than just a guy just like me who says he believes in a God. his beliefs are so real that they actually drive him to live counter-culturally. How valuable is this God that a man is willing to give up tons of his stuff to follow him better and help the poor? How valuable is this God if it actually costs something and dude is willing to pay that?" how do i live and breath out the gospel without compromising the message of jesus? Re-read the gospels and see how Jesus handles situations where sin is going on. Often it involves eating a meal together and hanging out, making friends, but never participating in the sin. Re-read the gospels and see how Jesus handles situations where sin is going on. Often it involves eating a meal together and hanging out, making friends, but never participating in the sin. I think that is an excellent model.
